Software Test Engineer
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Software Test Engineer (STE), you will help execute manual testing strategies for Skyward Apps’ products. Skyward needs a reliable person willing to investigate and implement testing strategies company wide – from creating test plans to performing basic risk analysis.
STEs at Skyward will be true quality engineers – they are responsible for both safeguarding the completeness and functionality of our applications, and also helping to shape the processes the company uses to verify its quality. The primary resource you will need to bring to bear is a creative mindset and an eye for the bigger picture.
As a STE, we’ll expect you to test through the complete functionality of an application with guidance from senior testers, product owners and developers. You’ll have the opportunity to work with our Architects and Developers to build out strategies and improve your testing skill set. You will also need to wield the supporting business skills necessary for a successful software career, such as producing time estimates and time management.
As we’re a small company, there’s opportunity for you to get as involved as you want in any aspect of our business, and as a STE with Skyward, you will have a direct impact on the company.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
Did we mention you need to be willing to learn? Preferably, you’ll bring to the table familiarity with some of these (or something similar):
- Browser familiarity: Chrome, Firefox, Safari
- Experience writing and executing successful blackbox tests
- Experience writing clear bugs with easy to follow repro steps
- Excellent communication skills
